The sky over the lake turns the color of a neon sign that's seen too many midnight miles. Pink on top, magenta underneath, the whole water running with it like a wet street after rain. Everything shimmers. The shore, the boats, the low clouds, all of it dressed in the same impossible pink. No traffic out here. Just the hum of nothing and my own reflection, which I'm choosing not to read into. The trees on the point stand in silhouette, black cutouts against the glow. It's the quietest nightlight I've ever seen. City people think they own this color. They don't. Sometimes I come down to the water just to watch the color change. It's free and it never sells out. It just rents them a room at midnight and moves on. I'd stay here till the stars clock in. Then I walk back in the dark, glowing a little myself. #dusk #lakereflections #pinkdusk
