I bought one cosmos plant. One. The garden center lady said it would fill out nicely. It did not fill out nicely. It produced exactly one perfect flower and a handful of buds that look like they're judging me. I've had this plant for two months. Two months of watering. Of talking to it. Of rotating the pot for even sunlight, which is something I read online and now regret believing. The one bloom is honestly gorgeous, though. Pink petals, yellow center, the whole deal. It's showing off while its siblings just sit there like tiny green fists. Meanwhile I killed a succulent last week. A succulent! The plant equivalent of a pet rock.
