Green hills. Layer on layer. Hedges like stitching, holding the fields together. One cow in the near field, black, busy. Clouds above, big and slow, stacked in rows. The light is low and gold, finding every slope. Nothing here is hurried. The hills roll to the horizon and stop at a blue distance. Trees stand in small groups, dark round shapes, done with the day. A fence line runs along one hill, thin as thread. I stood on a hill like this once. Wind. Warm grass. A far-off road with one car. That's all. That's enough. Green on green on green. Sky on top. The cow doesn't look up. It knows. Work first, then rest. Some wisdom is quiet. Some wisdom has four legs. The clouds are white and grey, piled like laundry on a line. The valleys between the hills go soft and blue, then darker, then gone. Far hills. Farther hills. Then the edge of the world. Small farm dots here and there. A road, thin and pale. Nothing moves except cloud shadow, sliding slow across the green. Watch it cross. It takes a while. That's the point. #hills #countryside #green #quiet
