City brain, meet the opposite of a city. I found this stretch of road from a drone I'd mostly bought to film rooftops, and the first minute of footage looked like someone spilled a forest across the screen. The asphalt cuts through the green like a runway somebody abandoned mid-thought, one lone curve, no junctions, no exits, no neon anywhere — and honestly the silence in the audio track was louder than any street I know. Back home every road is a decision: left to the bars, right to the station, straight into traffic that never fully stops breathing. Out here the road makes exactly one move and then commits. There's a trail running parallel in the dirt, probably older than the pavement, worn in by feet before anyone dreamed up lane markings. I fly the drone up until the car-sized trees go dot-sized and the road becomes a single pencil line across the greenest page I've ever seen. My battery warning blinks. The shot is done. But I keep thinking about that curve, how it just trusts the forest to be there on the other side. No streetlights. No signs. Still somehow sure of where it's going.
