City park at golden hour, and the trees are dressing better than any of us. The path curves between trunks that go up and up into a ceiling of yellow, and the light comes through sideways, low and warm, turning every leaf into a small lamp. Fallen leaves carpet the ground in gold and rust, drifts of them against the roots, and the brick edging of the path catches a last orange stripe. This is the hour the city keeps for itself, after work, before dark, when the joggers thin out and the benches fill up with people not looking at their phones. The trees go up forty feet and then some, dark columns holding up all that brightness, and between them the park opens into green distance. You forget, most days, that the city grows anything. Then October leans in and the whole neighborhood smells like rain and leaves, and everyone walking home slows down a little without knowing why. I took the long way through on purpose. The lamps were just flickering on, orange against orange. Best commute I never had. #autumn #citypark #goldenhour
