Open the box and it's a neon sign made of cookies. Rows of macarons lined up like a color chart, mint and pink and lemon and gold, each one glossy enough to catch the light like a shop window at midnight. The white paper is folded back like curtains, showing off the goods, and the box sits soft and bright against a blur of green. I've stood outside bakeries with lights like these, faces pressed to the glass, deciding whether to spend the money. Always yes, in the end. The cookies are packed tight, shoulders touching, and a couple near the front lean out like they're curious about the street. This is city energy. Loud colors, small portions, big prices, zero regrets. Everything in rows, everything shining. Take one for the road. The back row is a gradient of greens and yellows, the middle goes pink and coral, and a couple of chocolate ones hold down the front. Someone arranged this with love. Or at least with a very good eye. The lid stands open behind like a little white stage. Shine on, you sweet things. #macarons #pastrybox #colorful #citylights
