My uncle had a car exactly this red. Not a toy. A real one, with a bench seat and a radio that only got one station. This bear is behind the wheel of a little red convertible, both paws on the wheel, eyes half closed in that calm Sunday way. The road curves off through green hills under a sky full of stacked clouds, and he's got nowhere urgent to be. I remember sitting in that back seat with my sister, windows down, the warm wind messing up everybody's hair. Nobody wore seatbelts and everybody survived, somehow. The bear's ears are flat back from the breeze, or maybe he's just relaxed. There's a little sun in the corner throwing light across the road. Some drives are about arriving. This one's about the company and the slow green miles. If you've got someone who used to drive you around for no reason, call them. The car has a little windshield and round headlights, and the road is one pale ribbon between two green fields. Clouds stack up like pillows in the blue. The best trips never had a destination. Roll the windows down. #bear #redcar #sundaydrive #nostalgia
