Autumn Forest Road Light Flip Clock

The road runs. Dark on both sides. Trees like walls. Gold at the end. I walk. Nothing moves. Leaves above. Quiet below. Light leaks through. Thin. Slow. A post stands. Then another. Then no more. I keep going. The gold gets closer. It never arrives. Good. I wasn't in a hurry anyway. Air is cold. Clean. My breath shows. Then goes. Boots on the tar. Soft. Even. One bird. Then none. The trees breathe. I think. Or maybe that's me. Hard to tell out here. The dark on the left. The dark on the right. The gold ahead. That's all. That's enough. I turn around. Same road. Different light. Fine. Same road tomorrow. Maybe. The trees are tall. Their tops touch, almost. Almost. The light comes down in pieces. Not whole. Never whole. Just bits. I catch one on my hand. It sits there. Warm. Small. Gone. The grass at the edge is green. Dark green. Almost black where the trees lean in. A stone sits in the middle of the road. Grey. Round. Older than the tar. Older than me. I step over it. Everything here is patient. Nothing here is finished. Neither am I. I walk back slow. The gold stays where it is. Waiting. I like it there. #forestroad #autumn #minimal #walk
