From above, the road can't decide. It curves left, then doubts itself, then curves right through a forest caught mid-thought between seasons — some trees still green, some already gold, some dusted pale lavender with blossom. I flew the drone up, let it hover, and the strangest thing happened: my breathing slowed to match the road. That's the effect aerial views have on me. Problems that feel like walls at ground level look like lines from up here. Just lines. And lines can be followed or not. The path doesn't argue with the terrain. It meets a slope and bends. It meets the trees and goes around. Nothing in this picture is straight and everything is getting where it needs to go. I've been practicing this lately — the bend instead of the fight. When the morning goes sideways, when the plan collapses, I try to remember this frame: the road doesn't need a straight line to be a road. It only needs to keep touching the ground in front of it. Blossom season doesn't last and neither does the gold. The road stays anyway. Curving, patient, unhurried, holding all of it together without gripping anything at all.
