The meadow's gone full storybook and the daisies are the main characters. Look at them along the bottom edge, faces up, collars of white petals spread like they dressed for the occasion — because technically they did, this is peak season and everybody knows the sun is coming. Behind them the whole field melts into that soft yellow-green blur where the light lands and just gives up on being anything but warm. I flopped down in the grass here for an entire afternoon, which my back disagreed with loudly, and watched bees do their commute between the white landing pads. Little white umbel flowers crowd in between the daisies like younger siblings trying to fit into the photo. The sky went hazy white near the horizon, blue up top, one cloud drifting through like it had nowhere better to be. A meadow in full bloom is the closest thing the ground has to a laugh. Everything's growing at once, nobody's competing visibly, and the whole thing smells like cut stems and warm dust. If you need me, I'll be lying in it, getting grass stains on everything I own, completely at peace with that trade.
