This is the cat that runs the block. Tile floor, steel chair legs, a thousand footsteps a day, and in the middle of it all, one stretched-out cat who couldn't care less. Downtown is his couch. Tourists photograph him. Locals step over him. The corner neon doesn't reach this far, but he doesn't need the lights. He's got a sunbeam the size of a doormat and the confidence of a landlord. I've seen alley cats with less swagger. He's flat out, chin on the tile, paws reaching for a tomorrow he'll sleep through. The city hums its one long note. He doesn't. That's the whole point. Streets like this make you tough or they make you loose. He chose loose. Every muscle gone soft in public, which in this neighborhood takes real nerve. Sirens somewhere. Traffic. A door slamming. He's heard it all before and he's unimpressed. Some of us move to the city to be seen. He got here and immediately lay down. Goals, honestly. I sat on the chair above him and watched the street go by. #streetcat #citycat #urbanwildlife
