This snail has a better skincare routine than I do. Look at him. He's parked on a wet rock right next to the water, shell glossy, full body extended, basically at the spa. He didn't book this. He just lives here. Rent-free.
Meanwhile I'm standing in mud with cold feet and a camera bag full of crumbs. Priorities, people.
His reflection is right there in the water, upside down, and honestly it's doing him favors. He looks like a tiny brown boat that decided to grow feelings. Four eye stalks deployed like he's spotting satellites. The rock he's on is grey and slick. My shoes would have slid right off it. He's got built-in grip. Show-off.
I've been told snails can sleep for three years. Three. Years. Can you imagine? If I could do that I'd have missed approximately everything, and I'd be fine with it.
He moved while I watched. By maybe a millimeter. Over the course of a minute. That's the pace. That's the energy. Slow, wet, unbothered.
I asked him for advice. He said nothing, which was very on brand. I'm putting it on a wall anyway. #snail #water #reflection #slowliving
