Look at the top of that cloud. Just the top edge, where the light hits. It's not one color. It's four, maybe five, stacked in layers like a cake that took someone all day to frost. Worth every minute. I got closer than I should have, squinting up until my eyes watered. The dark part underneath is nearly purple, almost black, and the thin bright line where it meets the sea is the brightest thing in the frame. You don't see edges like this on a phone screen. Small island over there on the right, tiny as a freckle. Clouds move slower than you think. I watched this one for ten minutes and it barely crossed the water. The surface is doing its own thing, red and glassy and perfect. I could have watched all night. #sunset #clouds #skylovers
